Originally established 55 years ago by Windy Riggins. Windy built his business on integrity, trust and appreciation for his customers. He took care of them the best he could, in return his customers appreciated him. Most of his customers became his friends and would refer him for his honest and hard work. Eventually he made it into a company and opened a shop. With the exponential growth of technology, Windy’s interest in electronics and his ability to fabricate custom metal work led to the creation of one of the first gate operators is Texas. He began manufacturing his own electronic gate openers. Windy’s work has been inherited for three generations. Windy’s wisdom was passed down to James Madl who began manufacturing Better Built Openers with his two sons. Every year Better Built would exhibit their equipment and craftsmanship at the San Antonio Rodeo. After many years his son, Nicholas Madl, established San Antonio Gates.
